Ainstein — Genius data, powered by Roi-AI

Documentation

Ainstein MCP server.

The Ainstein MCP server is a remote Model Context Protocol server. It lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Gemini search Ainstein’s people, company and job advert data, check your company’s own ATS records, unlock contact details and add records to JobAdder or Bullhorn, all on behalf of the person signed in.

Last updated 12 Oct 2026

Requirements

  • An Ainstein account on the Intelligence package.
  • An AI assistant plan that supports custom connectors, or connectors from the assistant’s directory.
  • For the ATS tools, your company’s JobAdder or Bullhorn connected in Ainstein.
  • Unlocking contact details uses your company’s Ainstein credits, and so do people and ATS searches that find results. How credits work

Server URLs

The server uses the streamable HTTP transport over HTTPS. Use the URL for the region your Ainstein account is hosted in.

Global

APAC and default

https://mcp.ai-nstein.app/mcp

EU

EMEA accounts

https://mcp.eu.ai-nstein.app/mcp

If you sign in with an account from the other region, the sign-in screen tells you which URL to use.

How to connect

  1. 1In your assistant, add Ainstein from its connector directory, or add a custom connector with the server URL for your region.
  2. 2Sign in with your Ainstein account.
  3. 3Review the access requested and approve it.
  4. 4Start a new conversation and ask.

Guides for each assistant:

  • Claude: add Ainstein under Settings, Connectors.
  • ChatGPT: add Ainstein under Settings, Connectors.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot: your Microsoft 365 administrator enables the connector for your organisation.
  • Gemini: add Ainstein under Settings, connected apps.

Authentication and permissions

The server uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE (S256) and dynamic client registration. Your assistant finds the sign-in endpoints in the server’s OAuth metadata and registers itself, so there is no client secret to manage.

You sign in with your own Ainstein login. Every action runs as you, within your own company.

mcp:search
Search and read tools.
mcp:write
Tools that change data in Ainstein or your ATS, or spend credits.

A connection granted only mcp:search never sees the write tools: they are not listed to the assistant at all. The server also supports the standard offline_access scope, so you stay signed in, and openid and email, which some assistants use to confirm who you are.

To revoke access, disconnect Ainstein in your assistant’s connector settings. An owner or admin can also disconnect any connection in Ainstein under Settings, MCP Server. A disconnected connection stops working within 15 minutes.

What data the assistant can see

  • People. Searches return counts and links to view the results in Ainstein. Name, job title, employer and location are included only when an owner or admin has turned on Candidate details in AI assistants, under Settings, MCP Server. Otherwise only ids and links are returned. Turning the setting off stops future results including them, but cannot recall details already sent to a conversation.
  • Contact details. The email addresses, phone numbers and LinkedIn URLs of people are never returned to the assistant. Unlocked contact details are stored on the profile in Ainstein and written to the ATS record when one is created.
  • Companies and job adverts. These are public business information, so company details (such as name, size, industry and LinkedIn page) and job adverts are returned whatever the setting.
  • Your company only. Tools only act on the company of the person signed in: its Ainstein data, its folders and alerts, and its own ATS.
  • Credits. Unlocking contact details spends credits only after the assistant has shown the cost and you have agreed. The first call returns a quote; only a second, confirmed call spends.

Your assistant provider’s own terms cover what happens inside the conversation. For how Ainstein stores and processes data, see the Ainstein privacy policy.

Tools reference

The server offers 33 tools. Your assistant picks which to call from what you ask. Each tool shows what it does to data and the scope it needs.

Limits

  • Search results are a capped sample. The full count and a link to every match in Ainstein always come back.
  • People and ATS candidate searches are limited to 20 a minute and 500 a day for each person.
  • Job advert search covers Australia and New Zealand only. A search for anywhere else returns no adverts.
  • Unlocked contact details arrive in Ainstein, usually within a couple of minutes, not in the conversation.
  • At most 10 profiles are unlocked per call. A longer list takes more than one call.
