ChatGPT asks Ainstein

When you ask a question about people, companies or jobs, ChatGPT calls Ainstein through MCP with your permissions.

Ainstein does the search

Results come from Ainstein's enriched database or your own ATS records, depending on what you asked. The two are never mixed up.

You decide what happens next

Unlock contact details, save to a folder, set a job alert or push to your ATS. Searches made through your assistant and contact unlocks both use your Ainstein credit balance.

Your data and permissions

ChatGPT can only see what you ask it to look up, and only within the permissions of your Ainstein account. Your ATS records are searched read-only unless you ask to push something in. Ainstein does not use your data to train AI models. Ainstein data is stored in region (APAC for Australia and New Zealand customers, EU for UK and European customers). What is MCP and why does it matter for recruiters?+

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini connect securely to outside data. For recruiters it means you can ask your assistant to search a recruitment database, check your ATS or find who is hiring, and get a real answer from live data rather than a guess. Ainstein is an official MCP connector for all four assistants.

What does it cost to use Ainstein through Claude or ChatGPT?+

Ainstein MCP is included in the Intelligence package. Searches made through your AI assistant and contact unlocks both use your Ainstein credit balance, the same as in the Ainstein app. You will also need a plan with your assistant provider that supports connectors.

Is my data safe when I use Ainstein with an AI assistant?+

Your assistant only sees the results of the questions you ask, within the permissions of your Ainstein account. Ainstein does not use your data to train AI models, and your data is stored in region (APAC or EU). Your assistant provider's own privacy terms cover what happens inside the conversation, so check those too.

Do I need a developer to set this up?+

No. Open your assistant's connector settings, find Ainstein, connect and sign in. It takes about a minute and there is nothing to install.
