Billing & subscription terms.
Subscription and billing terms for the Ainstein data intelligence platform.
Last updated: 01 Oct 2026 · Version 2.0
These Billing & Subscription Terms (“Billing Terms”) apply to all subscriptions to the Ainstein service provided by ROI-AI Limited (New Zealand company number 7836996). By subscribing to Ainstein, you agree to these Billing Terms.
1. Subscription plans
Ainstein is sold as three packages: Discovery, Insight and Intelligence. Each is priced per licence, per month, on a 12-month term, billed monthly.
A licence is one named person. It gives that person a login to the Ainstein app and, on Intelligence, one personal MCP key for automated access. A licence may not be shared. An automated agent acting on behalf of several people requires a licence for each of them.
The price per licence falls as more licences are added, in published volume bands. The band rate applies to every licence on the subscription. Current bands are shown on the Ainstein pricing page. Subscriptions of 150 licences or more are priced by agreement.
2. Pricing and currency
All prices are excluding tax. Tax is calculated at checkout and shown clearly on all invoices in accordance with the laws applicable to your region.
Subscription pricing is available in AUD, GBP, EUR, USD and NZD. Your subscription currency is set at signup and cannot be changed after that point. Regional prices are fixed and do not fluctuate with exchange rate movements.
The price bands in force when you subscribe apply for your full 12-month term, including to any licences you add during the term. Published prices are reviewed from time to time; any change applies to your subscription from your next renewal date (see Section 13).
Additional credits beyond your included allowance are charged at the rate published on the Ainstein credits page at the time of purchase, in your subscription currency. The credit rate is not fixed for your term. Any change is published on the credits page at least 30 days before it takes effect.
Current pricing is shown on the Ainstein pricing page.
3. Free trial
New customers are eligible for a one-month free trial of Intelligence, with all features. A valid payment method must be provided to start a trial. Nothing is charged during the trial.
During your trial you may invite anyone in your team. Each licence receives the full Intelligence credit allowance of 1,000 credits, fixed to that licence. Credits cannot be moved between licences during the trial and do not replenish. Additional credits cannot be used beyond the allowance. When a licence’s trial credits are used, credit-consuming actions for that licence stop. Non-credit features remain available.
You may cancel at any time during the trial and nothing will be charged. If you do not cancel, at the end of the trial your account converts to the package and number of licences you selected at sign-up, and your 12-month term begins. You will be notified by email before conversion.
A voucher code entered at sign-up does not replace the free trial. The trial applies as above, and the voucher discount applies from your first paid month.
Existing Roi-AI customers enabling Ainstein from within the Roi-AI platform are eligible for the same trial.
4. Credits
Ainstein uses credits to control access to certain paid features, including contact detail access, ai search and MCP searches.
4.1 Included credits
Each licence includes a monthly credit allowance, which resets at the start of each billing cycle. Included credits do not roll over to the next cycle.
| Package | Included credits per licence per month |
|---|---|
| Discovery | 200 |
| Insight | 500 |
| Intelligence | 1,000 |
By default the account’s total allowance is divided evenly between licences. On Insight and Intelligence, the account administrator may reallocate credits between licences. On Discovery, each licence’s allowance is fixed.
4.2 Purchased credits
Paid subscribers may purchase additional credits in packs of 500 to 10,000 credits. Packs are priced at the credit rate published on the Ainstein credits pageat the time of purchase and charged in your subscription currency. Purchased credits go into a shared account balance, available to every licence once that licence’s included allowance for the billing cycle is used. Purchased credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and roll over until they expire. They do not expire when you change package. All pack prices exclude tax.
4.3 Credit consumption order
Included credits are used first. Purchased credits are used once the included allowance for the billing cycle is exhausted, oldest purchase first.
4.4 Credit-back for incorrect details
If a contact detail you have unlocked turns out to be incorrect, report it in the app and the credits spent on that detail are returned to your balance. Credit-back applies to the reported detail only. We may review accounts where reports are unusually frequent.
5. Credit alerts and auto top-up
Auto top-up is enabled by default. When your account’s credit balance runs low, auto top-up automatically purchases the pack size selected in your billing settings and charges your payment method on file. Credits are added only after a successful payment. A default pack size and monthly limit are set for your account based on its size; the account administrator can change the pack size, change or remove the monthly limit, or disable auto top-up at any time from billing settings.
When the monthly limit is reached, no further packs are purchased that billing cycle and credit-consuming actions stop until the limit is raised or the cycle resets. You will receive alerts when a top-up is purchased, when the monthly limit is reached, and, if auto top-up is disabled, when your balance is running low or used up.
6. Zero credit balance
When your credit balance reaches zero and no further top-up is available (because auto top-up is off or the monthly limit has been reached), credit-consuming actions, including contact detail access, ai search and MCP searches, are paused. Non-credit features remain available. Negative credit balances are not permitted.
7. Payment methods
We accept credit cards and direct debit (direct debit availability varies by region). All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your payment details are held by Stripe and are not stored on Ainstein systems.
8. Payment failure and retry
If a payment fails, we will retry in line with Stripe’s smart retry guidelines. The total retry window will not exceed 5 business days from the date of the first failure. You will be notified by email on the first failure and after the final retry attempt.
Your account access remains fully active during the retry window. If payment is not received after the final retry, access to your account will be restricted until successful payment is made.
9. Changes to licences and packages
Adding licences. You may add licences at any time from the billing portal. Added licences take effect immediately and are charged pro rata for the rest of the current billing cycle. If the new licence count moves you into a different price band, the band rate applies to all licences from that point.
Removing licences. A licence added within the last 30 days may be removed immediately, with the unused days credited. Other reductions take effect at your next renewal date. The number of licences on your subscription at the start of the term, or as later increased, is otherwise the minimum billed until renewal.
Upgrading your package.Takes effect immediately, charged pro rata for the rest of the current billing cycle. The higher package’s credit allowance applies from that point.
Downgrading your package. Takes effect at your next renewal date. Where the lower package has smaller allowances, anything above them is removed at renewal. We will notify you before this happens. Purchased credits remain valid until their expiry date.
10. Term, renewal and cancellation
10.1 Term and renewal
Subscriptions run for a 12-month term from the end of your trial, billed monthly. At the end of each term your subscription renews automatically for a further 12 months at the then-current published prices, unless you have turned off automatic renewal in your billing settings before the renewal date.
10.2 Cancellation
You may cancel at any time during your free trial and nothing will be charged. After the trial, subscriptions cannot be cancelled before the end of the current 12-month term. To end your subscription, turn off automatic renewal; it then ends on your renewal date and you retain access until then.
10.3 No refunds
All subscription fees and credit pack purchases are non-refundable, except as set out in Section 9 for licences removed within 30 days of being added.
11. Package allowances
In addition to credits, each package includes the following allowances per licence per month. Syncing records to your CRM does not consume credits. Manual and automatic syncs count against the same allowance.
| Discovery | Insight | Intelligence | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saved candidate searches | 10 | 25 | 50 |
| Saved job searches | — | 3 | 10 |
| People monitored for signals | — | 500 | 2,000 |
| Records synced to CRM | 50 | 100 | 200 |
When an allowance is reached, the feature shows a message naming the limit and what lifts it.
12. Invoices and tax
Invoices and receipts are available in your billing portal, are downloadable as PDF, and include a link to the current online terms. All invoices display tax clearly as calculated by Stripe Tax. Tax applies to subscriptions and credit pack purchases. All prices shown exclude tax. Subscription invoices show the number of licences and the rate applied.
13. Price changes
We may change published pricing from time to time. Price changes do not affect your subscription during your current 12-month term. Where a change will apply to your subscription at renewal, we will give you at least 60 days’ written notice before your renewal date. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may turn off automatic renewal in accordance with Section 10.
The additional credit rate is not fixed for your term and may change on 30 days’ notice published on the Ainstein credits page (see Section 2).
14. Data ownership
When you use credits to access contact details through Ainstein, whether in the app or through MCP, you are purchasing access to data in the Ainstein dataset for your internal recruitment use. Ainstein owns the underlying data. You may not extract, copy or compile Ainstein data in bulk, or use it to build or populate another database. The identity or cost of any upstream data sources is not disclosed to customers.
15. Automated access (MCP)
Intelligence licences include access to Ainstein through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which lets you use Ainstein data in your own ai tools.
Each MCP key is issued to one licence holder and is personal to them. Keys may not be shared or used to serve people who do not hold a licence. A key stops working when the licence or the person’s account is removed.
Searches and actions made over MCP consume credits from the licence holder’s allowance, then from the shared account balance, at the rates published on the Ainstein credits page. Rate limits, daily limits and result limits apply to MCP access. We may change these limits with notice. When a limit is reached the current request completes and further requests are refused until the limit resets.
We may suspend MCP access where we reasonably consider it is being used to circumvent licensing, extract data in bulk or otherwise breach these terms. Your responsibility for tools connected through MCP is set out in clause 7.2 of the Roi-AI Terms of Use.
